Within the urban area of the Yantzaza canton, Za mora Chinchipe province, which is located in the south of the country, has a population of 9,199 inhabitants (INEC, 2010), its climate is warm and humid, with a generally flat topography. Currently, the ‘Nueva Generación’ child deve lopment center has care coverage for four neighborhoods, welcomes children in a state of vulnerability and cares for 45-50 infants. The facility has reduced spaces and no ar chitectural program suitable for this type of infrastructure. In addition, the lack of architectural planning also means that the infrastructure of the center is not designed according to the climate of the area where it is located, presenting da mage such as: cracks, landslides, stains and efflorescence. Therefore, the redesign of the child development center was proposed, applying passive strategies so that it adapts to the climate of the Yantzaza canton. |
