Abstract: Toda organización busca reducir costos operativos, generar mayor utilidad, ser eficientes, atender a más clientes y lograr mayores ventas e ingresos, sin embargo, muchas veces el empirismo, la corazonada o la subjetividad, conllevan a los líderes de los procesos a tomar decisiones extemporáneas, que sin bien pueden haber funcionado en un periodo de tiempo, no muchas veces se puede correr con la misma suerte. La Gestión de la Cadena de Suministros aparece formalmente en 1990, y en el Ecuador es un concepto muy poco conocido y muchas veces mal ejecutado en las organizaciones. Con una adecuada gestión de la Cadena de Suministros se lograría contar con canales de comunicación óptimos, una adecuada coordinación con todas las áreas involucradas, evitar incumplimientos de órdenes de clientes, operar adecuadamente los inventarios, reaccionar adecuadamente a cambios imprevistos del mercado y optimizar los recursos de la organización... Every organization seeks to reduce operating costs, generate higher profits, be efficient, serve more customers and achieve higher sales and income, however, many times empiricism, hunch, or subjectivity lead process leaders to make extemporaneous decisions. Although they may have worked for some time, you cannot run with the same fate. Supply Chain Management formerly appeared in 1990, but in Ecuador, it is a little-known concept and often poorly executed in organizations. With adequate management of the Supply Chain, it would be possible to have optimal communication channels, adequate coordination with all the areas involved, avoid breaches of customer orders, properly operate inventories, react adequately to unforeseen market changes, and optimize the resources of the organization. Now, with a clear objective of where we want to go, it is important to know how to do it and that is where the SCOR Model appears, as a reference model that allows us to represent, analyze, evaluate and configure the Supply Chain in any organization, with this, the existing interactions from the suppliers of our suppliers to the clients of our clients, are fully understood...
