Abstract

Toda organización busca reducir costos operativos, generar mayor utilidad, ser eficientes, atender a más clientes y lograr mayores ventas e ingresos, sin embargo, muchas veces el empirismo, la corazonada o la subjetividad, conllevan a los líderes de los procesos a tomar decisiones extemporáneas, que sin bien pueden haber funcionado en un periodo de tiempo, no muchas veces se puede correr con la misma suerte. La Gestión de la Cadena de Suministros aparece formalmente en 1990, y en el Ecuador es un concepto muy poco conocido y muchas veces mal ejecutado en las organizaciones. Con una adecuada gestión de la Cadena de Suministros se lograría contar con canales de comunicación óptimos, una adecuada coordinación con todas las áreas involucradas, evitar incumplimientos de órdenes de clientes, operar adecuadamente los inventarios, reaccionar adecuadamente a cambios imprevistos del mercado y optimizar los recursos de la organización...
