Abstract

El potencial de la estructura en la composición arquitectónica casos de estudio edificio Las posibilidades que tiene la estructura en la actualidad no tiene límites gracias al extraordinario desarrollo tecnológico y constructivo que se ha venido dando desde el siglo XIX, en este nuevo contexto el papel de la estructura en el proyecto se ha modificado, por lo que en la presente investigación se explora el potencial que tiene la estructura para enriquecer la obra arquitectónica dentro de esta nueva libertad formal, incitando a estudiantes de arquitectura a participar de manera más activa en el diseño estructural. Para justificar el potencial compositivo y formal de la estructura en la arquitectura se realiza un análisis en tres niveles. La investigación parte del estudio de los antecedentes históricos de la relación entre la arquitectura y la estructura, para luego analizar el potencian de la estructura a través de cuatro estrategias de diseño estructural desde un enfoque compositivo y formal (la estructura como elemento compositivo espacial, alteración y distorsiones de la estructura, estructuras optimizadoras y envolvente estructural). Para finalizar se plantea un último análisis comparativo entre el edificio 30 St Mary Axe y la Torre Agbar generando un contraste entre las diferentes conceptualizaciones de la estructura en proyectos de características similares a fin de valorar las interrelaciones entre arquitectura y estructura. Finally, a final comparative analysis is proposed between the 30 St Mary Ax building and the Agbar Tower, generating a contrast between the different conceptualizations of the structure in projects with similar characteristics in order to assess the interrelationships between architecture and structure.
