OR=2,60), realizar dietas restrictivas (OR= 2,41).
Hypothesis: The prevalence of overweight and obesity are a major health problem in Farmaenlace workers, and these can be related to eating habits and the influence of body image. Methods: It is a descriptive study which evaluated 161 workers, obtaining anthropometrical and nutritional information, which served to determine the variables according to the research objectives. The information collected was processed and analyzed in SPSS statistical program version 2.0; performing statistical tests, Chi-square and odds ratio to determine the association of variables. Results: The sample is made up of employees of the company Farmaenlace S.A. with a mean age 33.6 ± 10.3 years, divided into different departments. The anthropometric analysis found that 29% of assessed individuals were overweight (BMI> 25 kg/m2) and 12% were obese (BMI> 30). The multivariate study found that habits that increase the risk of being overweight are: eating in front of the television (OR = 3.331), restrain from eating when hungry in order to lose weight (OR = 4.12), eating despite of not being hungry (OR = 2.60), restrictive diets (OR = 2.41). The protective habits are: eating breakfast every day (OR = 0.19), and the consumption of vegetables twice a day (OR0.472). In this group, we find that 40% of assessed over-estimate their body weight, 22% under-estimate and only 38% have a suitable image perception. The evaluated people who over-estimate their weight had more unhealthy practices (p = 0.018 restrictive diets, restrain from eating when hungry in order to lose weight p = 0.008 , and skipping meals p = 0.036) than those with a correct perception of their body image...
