Abstract

El Centro Cultural para niños y adolescentes en Quitumbe se concibe como una solución a la falta de espacios culturales en la parroquia, con un diseño que responde a las necesidades de recreación y desarrollo de los niños y adolescentes. Este enfoque busca resaltar los efectos positivos de las actividades artísticas, no solo a nivel personal, sino también en el ámbito social, fomentando la integración y el aprendizaje colectivo. El diseño arquitectónico se basa en volúmenes cúbicos que se integran orgánicamente a la trama urbana característica de Sudamérica. La ubicación estratégica, cercana a la terminal terrestre de San Laurencio y al metro, garantiza una excelente accesibilidad, aumentando el flujo de personas que podrán aprovechar las instalaciones del centro. Entre los espacios propuestos destacan plazas y parques al aire libre, así como un auditorio múltiple con salas multiuso en la planta baja, diseñadas para albergar diversas actividades culturales y artísticas. Uno de los aspectos clave del proyecto es el uso de mobiliario funcional distribuido en todas las plantas, pensado para fomentar la implicación activa de los niños y adolescentes en las dinámicas del lugar. Esto no solo promueve su participación en las actividades programadas, sino que también les permite interactuar y apropiarse del espacio. El objetivo final del Centro Cultural Quitumbe es mejorar la calidad de vida de sus habitantes, proporcionando un espacio inclusivo y participativo que beneficie tanto a los más jóvenes como a toda la comunidad, fortaleciendo la cohesión social y el desarrollo cultural de la zona. The Cultural Center for Children and Adolescents in Quitumbe is conceived as a solution to the lack of cultural spaces in the parish, with a design that addresses the recreational and developmental needs of children and adolescents. This approach aims to highlight the positive effects of artistic activities, not only on a personal level but also in the social sphere, fostering integration and collective learning. The architectural design is based on cubic volumes that organically integrate with the characteristic urban fabric of South America. Its strategic location, near the San Laurencio bus terminal and the metro, ensures excellent accessibility, increasing the flow of people who can benefit from the center’s facilities. Among the proposed spaces are outdoor plazas and parks, as well as a multipurpose auditorium with versatile rooms on the ground floor, designed to host various cultural and artistic activities. One of the key aspects of the project is the use of functional furniture distributed across all floors, designed to encourage the active involvement of children and adolescents in the center’s dynamics. This not only promotes their participation in the scheduled activities but also allows them to interact with and take ownership of the space. The ultimate goal of the Quitumbe Cultural Center is to improve the quality of life for its residents, providing an inclusive and participatory space that benefits both the younger population and the entire community, strengthening social cohesion and cultural development in the area.
