Recuperación del antiguo mercado de abastos san Sebastián reinventándolo a un mercado gastronómico y artesanal

Abstract

El Mercado San Sebastián es un equipamiento público el cual forma parte de las viviendas inventariadas que están ubicadas en el Centro Histórico de la ciudad de Loja, se encuentra ubicado en las calles Bernardo Valdivieso entre Lourdes y Mercadillo con un área de 1555,32 m2. A su alrededor se encuentra ubicados equipamientos como la Plaza y la Iglesia de San Sebastián, conectados por medio de un pasaje peatonal En el presente proyecto se plantea la recuperación del antiguo Mercado de abastos San Sebastián reinventándolo a un Mercado gastronómico y artesanal, de esta manera se reinterpreta la retícula del mercado tradicional, tomando como referencia que los mercados gastronómicos se han posicionado como una tendencia culinaria en las últimas décadas en todos los continentes, llegando a convertirse en verdaderos centros de referencia a nivel gastronómico y turístico de las ciudades. Con este proyecto se cambiara el uso de suelo y de esta manera se reformará la imagen y la seguridad del lugar debido al cambio de horario en atención al cliente y al nuevo programa urbano-arquitectónico que se diseñó tanto en el Mercado como en el pasaje peatonal, de esta manera sé que revitalizará el turismo de la ciudad, recuperando la relación con la iglesia de San Sebastián, con la plaza y con los eventos culturales que se llevan a cabo en este espacio, unificando programas, incorporando e integrando el proyecto al lugar en donde está emplazado y manteniendo la frecuencia de visita y compra en la parte interna y externa del Mercado.
