Diseño de sonrisa con carillas de porcelana por medio de flujos digitales en un paciente adulto

Abstract

La odontología estética busca restaurar la armonía en los dientes de los pacientes integrándola con su salud y función. Siempre se ha tratado de mejorar técnicas, elaboración o planificación de los tratamientos, por lo que el avance en tecnología, en esta especialidad ha sido significativa. En el presente caso se trató un paciente femenino de 55 años que presenta carillas de resina pigmentadas, filtradas y fisuradas, acompañadas de sensibilidad, inflamación gingival y molestias en su aspecto físico. Se propuso combinar su fisonomía facial y el escaneo de la cavidad bucal, con el uso del programa digital, mismo que permite realizar el diseño, encerado y mock up digital en tres dimensiones, visualizando a la par su rostro. Con este software se puede obtener una perspectiva global del resultado, mientras el paciente tiene la opción de participar y opinar al instante, en cuanto a la caracterización del diseño realizado, dándole mayor predictibilidad y aceptación a su tratamiento.Aesthetic dentistry seeks to restore harmony in patients' teeth, integrating it with their health and function. It has always tried to improve techniques, elaboration or planning of treatments, so the advance in technology in this specialty has been significant. The present case involved a 55-year-old female patient with pigmented, filtered and fissured resin veneers, accompanied by sensitivity, gingival inflammation and discomfort in her physical appearance. It was proposed to combine her facial physiognomy and the scanning of the oral cavity, with the use of the digital program, which allows the design, waxing and digital mock up in three dimensions, visualizing at the same time her face. With this software a global perspective of the result can be obtained, while the patient has the option to participate and give an instant opinion on the characterization of the design, giving greater predictability and acceptance of the treatment.
