Abstract: La siguiente investigación resalta la importancia que tiene el obtener hábitat a través de procesos de intervención social, solidarios, autónomos y participativos, para conseguir una arquitectura efectiva que responda a problemas cotidianos y reales de las personas, en este caso para la creación de un nuevo centro comunitario en el barrio San Jacinto. La metodología empleada se resume en: la teorización de dos metodologías participativas y su fusión, la aplicación de las mismas a la comunidad de San Jacinto a través de, la recolección de información y la resolución de diversos talleres participativos para generar el diseño arquitectónico y el establecimiento de sus respectivas metas y objetivos para su gestión, y al análisis presupuestario que corrobora la reducción de precios al emplear esta metodología. El resultado final es un centro comunitario que brinda aspectos funcionales, formales y tecnológicos que responden a la esencia cultural, social y económica del barrio San Jacinto, alcanza los objetivos deseados y deja como aprendizaje la importancia que tiene la participación en los procesos de diseño y gestión, pues este es un parámetro necesario para conseguir un hábitat y arquitectura de calidad.The following investigation highlights the importance of the habitat through social intervention, solidarity, autonomous and participatory processes, to achieve an effective architecture that responds to people's daily and real problems, in this case for the creation of a new community center in the San Jacinto neighborhood. The methodology used concludes in: the theorizing of two participatory methodologies and their fusion, their application to the community through the collection of information and resolution of various participatory workshops, to obtain the architectural design of the community center, to the establishment of goals and objectives for its management and the budget analysis that corroborates the price reduction when using this methodology. The end result is a community center that provides functional, formal and technological aspects that respond to the cultural, social and economic essence of the San Jacinto neighborhood, achieves the desired objectives as learning the importance of participation in design processes and management, as it is a necessary parameter to achieve a higher quality habitat and architecture.
