It has long been known that toxicity can be modified by simultaneous or sequential exposure to multiple agents in the environment. Given this statement, it has been considered appropriate to conduct an investigation based on the question, It is feasible that a test or biomarker can help or identify lesions in the genes of workers exposed to harmful substances. Thus our general objective is to analyze the genotoxic risk in workers exposed to harmful elements through a review of scientific articles. A bibliographic review on search engines and databases of the Infomed network was carried out such as: Scielo, MEDLINE, LILACS, Hinari, Pubmed, Pubmed, taking into account the articles that had the key words in some field: Chromosomal aberrations test, damage chromosomal, genotoxic in workers, Biomonitoring. As conclusions we have: Chemicals, radiation and in particular agrochemicals, almost entirely produce genotoxicity. Genotoxicity can be measured by biomarkers, such as: The Chromosomal Aberrations (CA) test with its gaps, tears and concentric chromosomes in conventional cultures. Micronuclei (MN), both in lymphocytes, and in scaly epithelial cells of the mucous membranes. The usefulness of each biomarker will depend on what toxic you are looking for, what tissue is best for expressing toxicity and what type of results should be used.In Ecuador, more related studies are required in this regard.
