Burnout syndrome has its origin in the interpersonal relationships established between the members of the organization and their clients. It is a response to chronic work stress, suffered by those who, in their willingness to adapt and respond to excessive demands and labor pressures, strive intensely, overloaded and sustained at all times, with demands and tension that originate important risks of contracting pathologies. The syndrome has a higher incidence in doctors and health personnel, negatively affecting the performance and quality of services. This is why it is important to know what the main causes of burnout syndrome in medical professionals are. Considering a methodology of Systematic Review of Literature, 36 scientific articles were analyzed. These data were analyzed under a temporal and geographical descriptive approach, as well as a bibliometric analysis of the relationships of the keywords. The documentation was classified and a division of the main causes for the appearance of burnout syndrome in doctors is presented, as well as future lines of research.
