Afecciones respiratorias en trabajadores expuestos a material particulado

Abstract

En las actividades diarias, así como también en el espacio laboral, las personas pueden encontrarse expuestas a altos niveles de contaminación ambiental que terminan afectando su salud. El objetivo del presente trabajo es identificar los principales procesos de contaminación en ámbitos laborales encontrados en la literatura especializada y las afecciones respiratorias abordadas en relación a ellos. Se espera revisar las ocupaciones más estudiadas respecto al tema, así como también los contaminantes más comunes, las afecciones mayoritariamente detectadas y los procedimientos investigativos usados para correlacionar todos estos factores. De tal modo, el artículo servirá para arriesgar algunas valoraciones y recomendaciones que sirvan al fin de mejorar las metodologías de muestreo de polución y diagnóstico de enfermedades respiratorias. Se realizó una investigación de tipo exploratoria mediante una revisión sistemática sobre la bibliografía especializada en el tema. Para ello se realizó una búsqueda exhaustiva de artículos en bases de datos como Google Académico; Science Direct, Redalyc, Pubmed, LILACS, Dialnet y REDIB. Como resultados de la búsqueda utilizando palabras claves se obtuvieron 3900 artículos de los cuales solo 32 cumplieron los criterios de inclusión. Se llegó a la conclusión de que entre las principales afecciones causadas por material particulado se encuentran bronquitis crónica, fibrosis pulmonar, silicosis, laringitis, asma, sinusitis, asma, gripe, tos, disnea, sibilancias e inflamaciones, sin embargo, se denota que aún no existe una precisión sobre las enfermedades respiratorias específicas y el grado en que estarían acentuándose a raíz de la contaminación por material particulado. In daily activities, as well as in the workplace, people may find themselves exposed to high levels of environmental pollution that end up affecting their health. The objective of this paper is to identify the main processes of contamination in labor fields found in the specialized literature and the respiratory conditions addressed in relation to them. It is expected to review the most studied occupations on the subject, as well as the most common pollutants, mostly detected conditions and investigative procedures used to correlate all these factors. Thus, the article will serve to risk some assessments and recommendations that serve to improve the sampling methodologies of pollution and diagnosis of respiratory diseases. An exploratory investigation was carried out through a systematic review of the literature specialized in the subject. For this, an exhaustive search of articles in databases such as Google Scholar was carried out; Science Direct, Redalyc, Pubmed, LILACS, Dialnet and REDIB. As search results using keywords, 3900 articles were obtained, of which only 32 met the inclusion criteria. It was concluded that among the main conditions caused by particulate matter are chronic bronchitis, pulmonary fibrosis, silicosis, laryngitis, asthma, sinusitis, asthma, influenza, cough, dyspnea, wheezing and inflammation, however, it is still indicated that there is no precision about specific respiratory diseases and the degree to which they would be accentuated as a result of contamination by particulate matter.
