This research project presents the intervention of Salvador Bustamante Celi Avenue as a connecting axis between the historic El Valle square and the Benjamin Carrión National Theater, a section in which there are activities and cultural manifestations that characterize it and identify it as cultural. For this, this work makes reference to some theories and design strategies to potentiate these cultural activities through the reformation and accessibility to the public space, taking the accessibility to the physical environment as the element of social inclusion. These cultural activities formulated by the inhabitants themselves, create guidelines to reform the public space, for this purpose, applies the methodology of observation and evaluation of public space proposed by the architect and urban planner Jan Gehl, in which he identifies wide public space, with opportunities to sit and recreate, which allow meeting the needs of the inhabitants for the appropriation of the spaces giving vital streets. The design proposal proposes alternatives to stimulate the activities of the sector and renew the public space, taking as a tool the traditions, practices and cultural equipment existing in this cultural connector axis and relating them to the social sphere.
