Estudio de la transformación de la vivienda tradicional bajo la influencia de la inmigración en la parroquia Vilcabamba, Loja, Ecuador

Abstract

A partir de la divulgación de los resultados de investigaciones realizadas en la parroquia Vilcabamba por las que se determinó la influencia de sus valores naturales en la longevidad alcanzada por sus habitantes, un número cada vez más creciente de grupos poblacionales foráneos, nacionales y extranjeros, han decidido radicarse de manera temporal o permanente en esta localidad, lo que ha conllevado a cambios socio culturales que entre otros se evidencian en la aparición de nuevas manifestaciones arquitectónicas en sus edificaciones alterando las características tradicionales de las mismas. Al examen de este fenómeno se ha enfocado este trabajo en el que partiendo de un análisis histórico se han podido identificar las modificaciones que se han realizado en relación al tipo de vivienda clásica del lugar, vinculando estas transformaciones con los diferentes grupos poblacionales que actualmente residen en la parroquia, lo que permitió conocer que la población extranjera residente en Vilcabamba conserva la vivienda tradicional de manera íntegra, a diferencia de la población oriunda y la flotante proveniente de otras regiones del Ecuador y de Loja en particular, quienes desvalorizan esos sistemas tradicionales de construcción y los materiales habitualmente empleados...

Immigration brings with it multiple factors for a developing village, such as culture, new knowledge, architecture, etc. A metamorphosis from the traditional to the modern, provoking a social rejection by the developing population and, at the same time, the influence of the new culture against the autochthonous culture. The case study, the parish Vilcabamba after several scientific investigations with which it obtained its world-wide fame, its climate, water, biodiversity, etc., and to the not being prepared or at least well informed before the inordinate increase of the tourism is immersed within a change in all areas by new population groups both local and national, thus affecting their architectural identity, because in the absence of information, a lack of constructive systems is generated by their original population, seeking to modify their homes, the construction of new and modern homes, influenced by the new architectural manifestations, forgetting the identifying characteristics of the parish. Therefore, a historical analysis of the identifying characteristics of the town, and in turn of the current dwellings, determining the construction systems of each of them to detect the modifications that the population has made in the traditional dwelling, is proposed. an analysis of inventoried dwellings and, at the same time, dwellings that have maintained their conservation thanks to good practices of the inhabitants....
