The Ecuadorian government in 2013 generated prototypes for the different Department of Health and Human Services operating units, which presents an integral network model in three levels of health care. The first level is the first stage in the health care system, which responds and resolves 80% of the most common illnesses. It is closely related to the community and is in charge of tackling illnesses through prevention, health promotion and healing. In Ecuador, the coast region presents the biggest number of operating units that need to be replaced in 2017, with a total of 310 units. Analyzing the model for level-1 health care facilities proposed by the government, arises the need to seek for a new prototype for the coastal region. The present study aims to attain a prototype for a sustainable health care center, applying bioclimatic strategies to diminish energy expenditure and reduce maintenance costs.....
