The agricultural land of Briceño, Manabí, is affected by a critical structural constraint: an almost absolute reliance on seasonal pluvial cycles for crop cultivation. Despite the regional importance of the sector, only a marginal fraction of landholders possesses functional irrigation infrastructure, leaving the vast majority tethered to unpredictable rainfall patterns. This operational bottleneck not only stifles crop diversification and productive continuity restricting yields to a single annual harvest—but also exacerbates the economic fragility of local producers facing intensified climate volatility. Furthermore, the few extant irrigation systems are plagued by hydraulic design flaws and operational inefficiencies, culminating in suboptimal water distribution and substantial resource wastage...
