Revitalización del lote del antiguo edificio de transporte del trolebús “La Y” como equipamiento barrial, integrándose a las infraestructuras verde y azul de Quito

Abstract

El deterioro de espacios urbanos en Quito ha generado vacíos que demandan nuevas formas de ocupación, sostenibles e inclusivas. Uno de estos casos es el lote de la antigua estación de trolebús “La Y”, un espacio altamente impermeabilizado, actualmente en desuso, y desconectado del sistema verde de la ciudad, pese a su ubicación estratégica entre importantes parches y corredores ecológicos.Frente a esta problemática, la presente investigación propone la rehabilitación del antiguo edificio de transporte como un equipamiento público con enfoque ecosistémico, capaz de integrarse a la infraestructura verde-azul de Quito y de responder a los desafíos del cambio climático. One such case is the site of the former “La Y” trolleybus station, a highly impermeable plot currently abandoned and disconnected from the city’s green system, despite its strategic location between significant ecological patches and corridors.In response to this issue, this research proposes the rehabilitation of the former transport building as a public facility with an ecosystem-based approach, capable of integrating into Quito’s green-blue infrastructure and addressing the challenges posed by climate change.
