Abstract: Cherry Tomatoes: Characteristics and Ripening Process One of the most consumed and nutritionally valuable vegetables is the tomato. Scientifi cally known as *Solanum lycopersicum*, it belongs to the Solanaceae family [1]. Among the many types of tomatoes, cherry tomatoes (*Solanum lycopersicum var. cerasiforme*) are some of the most popular varieties [1].
