Estudio longitudinal de madurez neuropsicológica en niño/as preescolares de 3 a 6 años, durante el año lectivo 2021-2022 en la Fundación Caminitos de Luz en el cantón de Tumbaco, Ecuador

Abstract

La presente investigación longitudinal tuvo como objetivo el demostrar el impacto que tuvo la pandemia en el proceso de aprendizaje y desarrollo de las funciones cognitivas en niños y niñas preescolares al volver a la presencialidad después de un periodo de aproximadamente 1 año y medio de confinamiento. Se identificaron los diferentes factores ambientales, contextuales y genéticos que pueden influir en el desarrollo, y los retos presentados para el ámbito educativo debido a adaptaciones abruptas en las planificaciones escolares de origen tecnológico. En esta investigación participaron 20 niños y niñas de educación inicial con un rango de edad de 3 a 6 años, a quienes se les aplicó el test CUMANIN, para determinar el desarrollo de la madurez neuropsicológica al principio del año lectivo en contraste con el final del mismo. Los resultados obtenidos reflejan una disminución en el índice de la madurez neuropsicológica en el 80% de los participantes. Sin embargo, el 75% de los estudiantes se ubican en los rangos de promedio y superior. The aim of this study is to shed a light on the impact of the pandemic on the learning process and development of cognitive functions in preschool children after returning to on-site classes after a period of approximately one and a half years of confinement. The different environmental and genetic factors that may influence development are discussed, as well as the challenges presented to the educational system due to abrupt adaptations for online learning, changing the curriculum and the lack of experience handling said platforms from both teachers and students. In this research, 20 preschool children between the ages of 3 to 6 have participated, to whom the CUMANIN test was applied to determine the development of neuropsychological maturity at the beginning of the school year in contrast to the end of it. The results obtained reflect a decrease in the neuropsychological maturity index in 80% of the participants. However, 75% of the students are in the average and higher ranges.
