Armonización oclusal y estética de un paciente con coronas individuales de metal porcelana

Abstract

Este caso clínico muestra de una forma sencilla y práctica el diagnóstico, planificación y ejecución de un tratamiento de rehabilitación oral, en un paciente que presenta alteración estética y funcional, tanto, de las estructuras dentales, como de tratamientos restauradores previamente realizados, sumado al subsecuente trastorno de su oclusión. Problemas que empezaron a reflejarse a nivel emocional y de la masticación. Durante el desarrollo de este trabajo se buscó devolver la armonía oclusal y estética del paciente a través de la elaboración de coronas individuales de metal porcelana. Incrementando de esta manera la función y la autoestima de la paciente, permitiéndole mejorar su calidad de vida.

The present clinical case shows in a simple and practical way, the diagnosis, planning and execution of an oral prosthodontic treatment in a patient with non-esthetic and functional impairment of the dental structures. In addition to defective previous dental treatments, a malocclusion had been observed which have to a certain degree, created an emotional and mastication imbalance on behalf of the patient. The aim of this study was to return the patient’s occlusal harmony and overall esthetics through the placing of single metal porcelain crowns; thereby increasing the function and the patient's self-esteem, allowing the patient to enjoy a better lifestyle.
