Abstract

La agudización de un proceso crónico agudizado o absceso fénix es una de las lesiones menos comunes en endodoncia sin embargo es una de las lesiones más peligrosas, esto se debe a la rápida evolución que tiene la lesión y esta al diseminarse rápidamente por los espacios fasciales llega a comprometer sistémicamente al paciente, poniendo en peligro la vida del individuo. Su evolución y la rapidez de su agudización están determinadas por tres factores muy importantes; el número de microorganismos, la virulencia de los microorganismos y la respuesta inmune del paciente. Entre los tres debe existir un equilibrio, en el momento en que uno de las tres se ve afectado se produce un desbalance lo que ocasiona que la lesión se active, resultando una exacerbación de signos y síntomas.

There has to be a balance between these three, if any of these factors are altered or affected there will be a misbalance which will allow the injury to develop and also all the symptoms and sings will star to appear.
