A female patient was selected with a diagnosis of pulp necrosis and chronic apical periodontitis in tooth 1.5, who received root canal and it was assayed microbiologically with different cultures types of agar. Were used for this therapy flexofile limes, NaOCl 2.5%, calcium hydroxide as intracanal medication, this technique combining the use of laser, and to take samples of laboratory were used test tubes and steril limes that were transported in thioglycolate solution. Samples were taken as follows: the first was taken after the access opening, the second post instrumentation and helping with saline as irrigant, the third sample after laser application (epic Biolase ®), the fourth in a second intervention eight days later before the instrumentation and irrigation with 2.5% NaOCl, the fifth after shaping an cleaning the canal with NaOCl 2.5%, the sixth fifteen days later, after calcium hydroxide and the last one after the final irrigation with 2.5% NaOCl before obturation. Observed 70 000 000 initial load of bacteria as the duct using laser after a reduction of 85.71% of the same, and a staphylococcal bacteria removal as a whole, by 75% streptococci, and anaerobes 80%.
