Abstract: En la actualidad es común observar cambios en los asentamientos humanos en actividades o en el modo de vida, las cuales son respuestas al fenómeno de la globalización. Cada asentamiento depende de distintos factores que serán su caracterización, de igual forma, que influirán en la medida del cambio desde un asentamiento rural a uno urbano. La influencia que se ha dado en los asentamientos que se encuentran cercanos a grandes ciudades, responden a la cercanía y fácil accesibilidad de la misma. La parroquia rural de Nono, que se encuentra muy cerca de Quito, presenta características de rural. Sus actividades primordiales son la agricultura y ganadería. En el caso de la agricultura, esta se encuentra bastante limitada por factores como poca inversión y capacitación, poca variedad en sus productos, sin mencionar el bajo costo al que se vende en los mercados. Una alternativa para este problema, que se vuelve popular conforme el tiempo avanza, es la permacultura, la misma que permite utilizar la cíclica naturaleza a favor de los cultivos que se convertirán en la fuente alimenticia local y, en ciertos casos, de otros poblados. La capacitación de los pobladores agrícolas, en permacultura, es una oportunidad que permitirá al cantón Nono producir cultivos variados, orgánicos y con una baja inversión económica. Al hablar de alimentos orgánicos se da la oportunidad de generar ganancias a la población que potencialmente los motive, los capacite y produzca en una escala mayor en la parroquia...
Nowadays, it is very common to see in human settlements, changes in their activities and lifestyle, which are responses to the phenomenon of Globalization. Each settlement depends on different factors that will be features, and they will influence in the way rural towns become Little by Little into big cities. The influence that it has been evident in villages located close to big cities, responds to factors as short distance and easy accessibility. In Nono, whose location is very close from Quito, shows features of rural parish. The primordial economic activities are Agriculture and Animal Breeding. Local agriculture, it is very limited by few investment, little education, thus, there is little assortment of agricultural products, not to mention, the low cost they are sold in urban Markets. Nevertheless, there is an alternative for this problem that is has become popular as long as time keeps going. It is Permaculture, that works fine with the cyclical nature in favor of crops. It could become its local and nearby food source The training of agricultural settlers in Permaculture is an opportunity that will allow Nono to increase the variety of local Organic Products, with a lower investment. When it is focused in organic crops, it will give the chance to increase the population’s profits, and also the motivation to get the training in Permaculture that in a bigger scale will be done in the parish...
