Due to the increase that Ecuador suffers in the number of motorcycles, it is convenient to evolve in ways to reduce the polluting emissions expelled into the atmosphere of this type of vehicles, focusing the research on a mechanical element and not only on fuels. For this, an oil cooler was used in order to reduce the temperature of the lubricant and, consequently, the vapors that it produces, thus reducing the emissions resulting from the recirculation of gases, as well as the influence of the engine temperature on the polluting gases, maintaining the parameters that apply in the RTE-136 regulation. The results showed that when reducing the temperature of the lubricating oil, the CO polluting emissions were reduced by 20.45% and the NOX by 5.85% by idling, while @ 5000 rpm the CO was reduced by 12.54% due to this that there is less amount of vapors in the oil that will not be recycled in the admission. From the analysis and results it was determined that it is possible to reduce the polluting gases only by reducing the temperature in the lubricating oil without taking into account any change in the fuel that is used, thanks to this another research approach is given for the reduction of emissions that has not been exploited as much in recent years as are lubricants, in addition to taking into account the large number of motorcycles that exist if applied in all, the reduction of pollutants would be considerable.
