Preparación quirúrgica de los maxilares con fines protesicos

Abstract

La pérdida de los dientes constituye una de las enfermedades bucales de mayor incidencia, las causas de las mismas son múltiples y se asocian principalmente a la presencia de caries dental y periodontopatías. El edentulismo produce consecuencias negativas al sistema estomatognático, estas pueden ser eliminadas una vez rehabilitado protésicamente el paciente. Con el objetivo de socializar el caso de un paciente edéntulo con reborde óseo irregular en la Clínica de Especialidades Odontológicas de la UIDE y a fin de demostrar la importancia de asociar las diferentes especialidades odontológicas mediante un tratamiento multidisciplinario e integral, se realizó el presente estudio en el que se procedió a realizar la preparación quirúrgica previa de los maxilares con el fin de restablecer el sistema estomatognático en todas sus esferas, así como facilitar el uso de una prótesis que brinde mayor soporte, estabilidad y minimizar molestias al paciente.

The loss of teeth is one of the highest incidence of oral diseases, the causes of these are many and are mainly associated with the presence of dental caries and periodontal disease. Edentulism produce negative consequences to the stomatognathic system, these can be removed once the patient prosthetically rehabilitated. In order to socialize the case of an edentulous patient with irregular bony ridge at the Clinic for Dental Specialties of UIDE and to demonstrate the importance of associating the different dental specialties through a multidisciplinary and comprehensive treatment, this study was conducted in the we proceeded to perform the pre-surgical preparation of the jaws in order to restore the stomatognathic system in all areas, and facilitate the use of a prosthesis that provides greater support, stability and minimize patient discomfort.
