Análisis del perfil del alumno y análisis de la industria educativa para conocer los factores determinantes en la decisión de una carrera de pregrado

Abstract

La presente investigación tuvo como objetivo identificar y describir, de manera clara, aquellos factores asociados a la elección de carrera en estudiantes de nivel socioeconómico alto y medio alto, que cursan el tercer año de bachillerato en colegios particulares del Cantón Rumiñahui en la provincia de Pichincha. Desde una aproximación cuantitativa, la investigación recurrió a la teoría socio-cognitiva de desarrollo de carrera, con la finalidad de elaborar las preguntas a los estudiantes y comprender este proceso de elección. Se llevaron a cabo encuestas en las afueras de cada uno de los colegios y se realizó un análisis de contenido. Los resultados denotaron una falta de eficacia de las pruebas vocacionales que miden conocimientos y aptitudes llamadas: “Ser Bachiller” y ENES (Examen Nacional para la Educación Superior), que son realizadas durante y posteriormente al bachillerato; los resultados de las mismas no solo han provocado discernimiento vocacional en los estudiantes con respecto a la elección de carrera, sino que han dificultado su ingreso a la educación superior. This research aimed to identify and describe, in a clear way, those factors associated with of career choice in students of high and medium socioeconomic status, who attend the third year of high school in private schools in Canton Rumiñahui. From a quantitative approach, the research resorted to the socio cognitive theory of career development, in order to elaborate the questions to the students and to understand this process of choice.
