Abstract

En los últimos cinco años se ha dado un incremento de incendios forestales en las parroquias surorientales del cantón Loja. Aunque este sector ya cuenta con una estación de bomberos en Vilcabamba y con el apoyo de las estaciones de Loja, es evidente que no ha sido suficiente para atender las emergencias y disminuir las pérdidas de especies y ecosistemas. Throughout the last five years, there has been an increase in forest fires in the southeastern parishes in the canton of Loja.
