Rehabilitación oral de un paciente edéntulo parcial utilizando sus dientes como domos o-ring para una sobredentadura superior y una prótesis total inferior.

Abstract

Las sobredentaduras, son prótesis realizadas sobre implantes situados en el reborde o sobre dientes residuales que sirven de pilares para proporcionar una mejor retención a la prótesis además de conservar la altura ósea y evitar que esta se reabsorba. El siguiente caso clínico trata de un paciente de sexo masculino de 69 años de edad, edéntulo parcial superior e inferior el cual ha perdido la mayoría de sus dientes por diferentes causas quedando en boca únicamente dos, caninos superiores (1.3 y 2.3) y un segundo molar inferior derecho (4.7). Para la rehabilitación oral se realizará una sobredentadura superior usando sus dientes superiores como pilares y una prótesis convencional inferior realizando la extracción único diente inferior.

Over dentures are prosthetic devices made over implants located over the toothless gum or over residual teeth which work as a pillars to provide a better retention to the protheses as well as maintain bone density and avoid recession of it. The following case presents a partial toothless 69 year old male, who has lost most of his teeth for various reasons, leaving him with two remaining superior teeth (1.3 and 2.3) and one inferior tooth (4.7). For the prosthetic rehabilitation an over denture will be made using the remaining superior teeth as pillars, and a conventional total denture for the inferior part, making the extraction of the only remaining tooth.
