Estudio de factibilidad para la evaluación de un sistema de bicicletas públicas en la ciudad de Riobamba

Abstract

El presente trabajo de titulación, titulado “Estudio de factibilidad para la evaluación de un sistema de bicicletas públicas en la ciudad de Riobamba”, tuvo como principal objetivo analizar la factibilidad de establecer un sistema de bicicletas públicas en el cantón Riobamba. Para ello, se evaluó la situación actual de la movilidad urbana, se desarrolló un análisis técnico del sistema propuesto y se determinó su factibilidad técnica, económica y social. La metodología empleada fue de enfoque cuantitativo, utilizando instrumentos como encuestas y fichas de observación para recopilar información sobre la percepción ciudadana respecto al sistema. Asimismo, se examinó la infraestructura existente, incluyendo las ciclovías y su señalización horizontal y vertical. Los resultados obtenidos evidenciaron que este sistema contribuiría significativamente a la mejora del transporte urbano, disminuyendo la emisión de gases nocivos y fomentando un entorno más sustentable. El análisis identificó que el sistema requiere la implementación de seis estaciones estratégicamente ubicadas en la ciudad para facilitar el acceso y mejorar la conectividad con otros medios de transporte. Además, se destacó la necesidad de fortalecer la señalización de las ciclovías como parte integral del proyecto. Este sistema no solo busca reducir la congestión vehicular, sino también fomentar hábitos saludables entre los ciudadanos, incentivando el uso de medios de transporte alternativos y sostenibles. En conclusión, la propuesta obtuvo una alta aceptación por parte de la ciudadanía y demostró ser una alternativa eficiente, ágil y beneficiosa para la movilidad urbana en Riobamba. The main objective of this thesis, entitled “Feasibility study for the evaluation of a public bicycle system in the city of Riobamba”, was to analyze the viability of implementing a public bicycle system in the Riobamba canton. To do so, the current situation of urban mobility was evaluated, a technical analysis of the proposed system was developed, and its technical, economic, and social feasibility was determined.The methodology used was quantitative, using instruments such as surveys and observation forms to collect information on citizen perception regarding the system. Likewise, the existing infrastructure was examined, including the cycle paths and their horizontal and vertical signage. The results obtained showed that this system would significantly contribute to the improvement of urban mobility, reducing emissions of polluting gases and promoting a more sustainable environment.The analysis identified that the system requires the implementation of six stations strategically located in the city to facilitate access and improve connectivity with other means of transport. In addition, the need to strengthen the signage of the cycle paths as an integral part of the project was highlighted. This system not only seeks to reduce traffic congestion, but also to promote healthy habits among citizens, encouraging the use of alternative and sustainable means of transport.In conclusion, the proposal was highly accepted by citizens and proved to be an efficient, agile and beneficial alternative for urban mobility in Riobamba.
