Abstract

Este trabajo explora la interacción entre tres áreas clave en la investigación forense: balística, prueba pericial y medicina legal. Se examina cómo la balística forense contribuye a la reconstrucción de crímenes con armas de fuego, aportando datos cruciales sobre trayectorias y características del arma. Asimismo, se analiza el rigor técnico de la prueba pericial, que asegura la confiabilidad de los resultados presentados en los tribunales.La medicina legal, por su parte, juega un rol esencial al esclarecer las alteraciones que los delitos generan en el cuerpo humano, facilitando la determinación de causas de muerte, lesiones y tiempos de deceso. Este estudio subraya la importancia de integrar estas disciplinas para obtener una comprensión más precisa de los hechos y fortalecer el proceso judicial.Finalmente, se destacan los desafíos y oportunidades que enfrenta esta colaboración científica para mejorar la investigación criminal, garantizando que las decisiones judiciales estén respaldadas por evidencia confiable y una visión justa. This paper explores the interaction between three key areas in forensic investigation: ballistics, expert evidence, and forensic medicine. It examines how forensic ballistics contributes to the reconstruction of crimes involving firearms, providing crucial data on projectile trajectories and weapon characteristics. Additionally, it analyzes the technical rigor of expert evidence, ensuring the reliability of results presented in court.Forensic medicine plays an essential role in clarifying the alterations caused by crimes on the human body, facilitating the determination of causes of death, injuries, and time of death. This study emphasizes the importance of integrating these disciplines to achieve a more accurate understanding of the facts and to strengthen the judicial process.Finally, the challenges and opportunities faced by this scientific collaboration are highlighted, aiming to improve criminal investigations and ensure that judicial decisions are backed by reliable evidence and a fair perspective.
