Diseño de un hospital veterinario universitario perteneciente a la Universidad Nacional de Loja para la carrera de medicina veterinaria

Abstract

El hospital veterinario de la Universidad Nacional de Loja brinda servicio desde el año 1978, se encuentra ubicado al sur de la ciudad de Loja y es uno de los más importantes centros veterinarios de la región sur del Ecuador. Según palabras del director del actual hospital, las instalaciones no cumplen y tampoco respetan las necesidades actuales de un hospital veterinario debido a una falta de espacios para el desarrollo de las diversas actividades.El objetivo de la investigación será el proponer el diseño de un nuevo hosoital veterinario en la Universidad de Loja con la finalidad de dar un mejor servicio a la comunidad lojana y a sus mascotas; esto de acuerdo con los requerimientos de las autoridades de la carrera de zootecnia y veterinaria de la misma universidad.Para evaluar la percepción de los usuarios y estado actual del hospital se usaron entrevistas y encuestas. Se evaluó el emplazamiento y su estado actual, además de considerar un nuevo espacio para el emplazamiento del proyecto. Con las encuestas se obtuvo una valoración negativa del hospital, además, se obtuvo un resultado del 93.5% a favor de la readecuación del hospital veterinario; Se determinó que el emplazamiento actual del hospital no es conveniente debido a la incompatibilidad de actividades con dependencias vecinas, por ello se propuso un nuevo proyecto. Se propone el diseño de un hospital veterinario que respete normas básicas de salud con un emplazamiento adecuado y espacios que satisfagan las necesidades de la comunidad universitaria y a la población lojana. The Veterinary Hospital of the National University of Loja has been providing services since 1978. It is located in the south of the city of Loja and is one of the most important veterinary centers in the southern region of Ecuador. According to the current hospital director, the facilities do not meet the current needs of a veterinary hospital due to a lack of spaces for various activities.The objective of the research will be to propose the design of a new veterinary hospital at the University of Loja, with the aim of providing better service to the Loja community and their pets. This is in accordance with the requirements of the authorities of the zootechnics and veterinary career at the university.To assess the perception of the users and the current state of the hospital, interviews and surveys were conducted. The location and its current state were evaluated, and a new space for the project’s location was considered.The surveys revealed a negative evaluation of the hospital, and 93.5% of respondents favored the re-adaptation of the veterinary hospital. It was determined that the current location of the hospital is not suitable due to incompatibility of activities with neighboring facilities; therefore, a new location was proposed.A veterinary hospital design is proposed that complies with basic health standards, with a suitable location and spaces that meet the needs of the university community and the people of Loja.
