Modelo de gestión estratégica para el área quirúrgica del Hospital Dr. Enrique Garcés de Quito, junio - octubre de 2024

Abstract

La presente investigación está dirigida una propuesta de un modelo de gestión estratégica para el servicio de Centro quirúrgico en el periodo Junio a octubre 2014, enfocándose en el análisis de su situación actual, del Centro Quirúrgico, y sus necesidades tanto del personal como de los pacientes. El presente trabajo aborda el diseño e implementación de un modelo de gestión estratégica basado en la metodología EMC2 para el centro quirúrgico del Hospital Enrique Garcés. Este modelo busca integrar la Excelencia en los procesos hospitalarios mediante la optimización de Metodología, la consolidación del Conocimiento clínico y el enfoque centrado en el Cliente/paciente. La investigación responde a problemáticas clave, como el retraso en los tiempos quirúrgicos, la alta prevalencia de cirugías suspendidas y la subutilización de recursos, los cuales impactan negativamente en la calidad de atención y la eficiencia del servicio. El modelo EMC2 se implementa a través de una gestión estratégica que estandariza procesos, promueve la capacitación continua del personal quirúrgico y prioriza la satisfacción y seguridad del paciente. Además, se plantea una estructura que fomente la comunicación y el trabajo interdisciplinario, con el objetivo de optimizar los recursos y mejorar los indicadores de desempeño del área quirúrgica. Este estudio constituye un aporte significativo al campo de la gestión hospitalaria, proponiendo una herramienta innovadora y adaptable a otras áreas de atención en salud. This research is aimed at proposing a strategic management model for the Surgical Center service during the period from June to October 2014, focusing on the analysis of the current situation of the Surgical Center and the needs of both the staff and the patients.This work addresses the design and implementation of a strategic management model based on the EMC2 methodology for the surgical center of the Enrique Garcés Hospital. This model aims to integrate Excellence into hospital processes through the optimization of Methodology, the consolidation of Clinical Knowledge, and a focus on the Client/Patient. The research addresses key issues such as delays in surgical times, the high prevalence of canceled surgeries, and underutilization of resources, which negatively impact the quality of care and the efficiency of the service. The EMC2 model is implemented through strategic management that standardizes processes, promotes continuous training for surgical staff, and prioritizes patient satisfaction and safety. Furthermore, it proposes a structure that fosters communication and interdisciplinary collaboration, with the aim of optimizing resources and improving performance indicators in the surgical area. This study represents a significant contribution to the field of hospital management, offering an innovative and adaptable tool for other areas of healthcare services.
