Ampliación y Rehabilitación del Antiguo Centro del Muchacho Trabajador Nº1

Abstract

Desde la creación del Centro del Muchacho Trabajador Nº1 del barrio La Tola, muchos niños y jovenes trabajadores de la ciudad de Quito tuvieron acceso a educación, alimentación y aseo personal de forma gratuita. Este centro logró expandirse al sector de Cotocollao dando lugar al Centro del Muchacho Trabajador Nº2. La apertura de este segundo centro dificultó el mantenimiento del primer centro, ocasionando un cierre definitivo sin planes de reapertura a corto o largo plazo por parte de los Jesuitas del Ecuador; gracias a entrevistas e investigaciones se obtuvo que muchas familias que eran socias del Centro del Muchacho Trabajador Nº1 quedaron sin ayuda gratuita. El proyecto no solo buscará rehabilitar el antiguo Centro del Muchacho Trabajador Nº1 con una mejor adecuación de espacios e iluminación, sino que también buscará ampliar este centro con el predio baldio aledaño con la intención de brindar talleres amplios para las familias de bajos recursos y sus hijos trabajadores.
