Necesidad de seguimiento a pacientes diabéticos en Hospital General IESS Latacunga en el año 2022

Abstract

El presente estudio tuvo como objetivo conocer sobre la necesidad de crear un método alternativo de seguimiento como complemento a la atención del paciente diabético del Hospital General IESS Latacunga. Donde se consideró un paradigma mixto cualitativo cuantitativo, en la modalidad de investigación básica, bibliográfica-documental, de campo, en un estudio descriptivo. La recolección de la información se llevó a cabo mediante la técnica de la encuesta a través del cuestionario aplicado a pacientes diabéticos y la entrevista a los médicos que tratan a los mismos. Como muestra se seleccionó a 2 médicos especialistas y 311 pacientes diabéticos atendidos en Hospital General IESS Latacunga. Los resultados del estudio indicaron que los pacientes diabéticos, son usuarios no solamente de medios tecnológicos, sino además de internet y esto se incrementará con la evolución tecnológica. Por lo que aseveramos la capacidad que tienen en convertirse en pacientes cibernautas y empoderarse de una herramienta tecnológica, para el seguimiento de su enfermedad. The objective of this study was to learn about the need to create an alternative method of follow-up as a complement to the care of the diabetic patient of the IESS Latacunga General Hospital. Where a mixed qualitative-quantitative paradigm was considered, in the modality of basic, bibliographic-documentary, field research, in a descriptive study. The collection of the information was carried out by means of the survey technique through the questionnaire applied to diabetic patients and the interview to the doctors who treat them. As a sample, 2 specialist doctors and 311 diabetic patients treated at IESS Latacunga General Hospital were selected. The results of the study indicated that diabetic patients are users not only of technological means, but also of the internet and this will increase with technological evolution. Therefore, we affirm the ability they have to become cybernauts patients and empower themselves with a technological tool, for the monitoring of their disease.
