La despenalización del aborto en la legislación ecuatoriana

Abstract

El presente trabajo inicia respondiendo a la interrogante ¿Desde qué momento pasamos a darle valor de persona a ese conjunto de células con vida? para cada sociedad, cada cultura y cada religión. Luego analizamos las dos posturas del debate entre el derecho de la mujer a poder decidir sobre su cuerpo y el derecho del feto a la vida partiendo desde la historia de la problemática en sí misma hasta llegar a las cifras actuales de abortos practicados, con lo cual concluimos que al ser algo ilegal y clandestino suelen ser realizados en condiciones inseguras; por lo tanto, la despenalización del aborto es un paso no solo necesario, sino que urgente. The present work begins by answering the question: From what moment did we start to give this group of living cells the value of a person? for each society, each culture, and each religion. Then we analyze the two positions of the debate between the right of woman to be able to decide on her body and the right of the fetus to life, starting from the history of the problem itself up to the current figures of abortions performed, with which we conclude that being something illegal and clandestine, they are usually carried out in unsafe conditions, therefore the decriminalization of abortion is a step not only necessary, but also urgent.
