El Rol del Periodista en la Coyuntura Política Ecuatoriana Actual, Caso: “El Gran Hermano”

Abstract

Ecuador is currently facing an important process of change called “Revolución Ciudadana”; in order to achieve what this “revolution” has planned, president Correa feels the need to put aside every person or every organization who does not share the interest of his government. The “Revolución Ciudadana” found an adversary in the press and has initiated around 18 juridical processes against journalist and the media. He refers to this group as the corrupt press, “prensa corrupta”, expressing that they only work for the owner’s interests and not for the society.
