Abstract

Fundación Triada se ubica en el valle de Cumbayá en Ecuador. Su trabajo gira en torno a personas con problemas neurológicos. La mayoría de los pacientes que acuden al centro tienen parálisis cerebral que varía desde los niveles I a V de acuerdo al GMFCS. Aquellos pacientes que se encuentran en los niveles más delicados como son los niveles IV y V, requieren de varias terapias, entre ellas: la fisioterapia. Una intervención constante es necesaria para mejorar la calidad de vida de los pacientes y para evitar trastornos musculares, óseos, digestivos y respiratorios. Fundación Triada is located in the Cumbayá Valley in Ecuador. Its main purpose is to serve people with neurological problems. The majority of patients that attend this centre have cerebral palsy from level I to level V according to the GMFCS. The patients that are in the most delicate levels (IV and V), require several therapies; amongst them: physiotherapy. A constant intervention is necessary in order to improve the quality of life of these patients, and to avoid muscular, bone, digestive and respiratory disorders.
